PRELIMINARY TASK 2: CCR

  1. Andrew –

Although your technical knowledge is strong, the layout for the first question is less effective. This could be easily addressed by thinking about when and where you’re separating your text. Think about paragraphs and sentence structure; as is, this is mostly a wall of text, and the first sentence in the “Challenging Conventions” section should be two or even three sentences. This makes it difficult for readers to follow your reasoning.

In “Challenging Conventions”, what is the purpose of an ambiguous ending? How is that meaningful for the audience? In and of themselves, “cliffhanger” endings have the effect of non-resolution. Based on your use of conventions, how is that non-resolution meaningful?

In “Representation”, using males for your roles can be meaningful, but WHY? Off the top of my head, other issues you could have looked at include authority, power, loyalty, and justice. You sort of go there with “trust / double cross” yet needs development to be convincing.

Audience engagement reasonably well thought out.

Remember, how you integrated technologies is not meant to be simply a list of what you used – more like what technologies did you use together AND WHY. What effects were you going for? Keep in mind any technologies used in the story world as well, as the editing stage will often consider this when creating certain effects.

Development of Production Skills has some great thoughts. You got impatient to be finished at the end, though, and your sentence structure got sloppy. Slow down.

    OVERALL – 10/20
